Project: Open Summer Camp Call 2026

Providing inclusive summer camp opportunities for vulnerable communities

After its successful launch in 2025, the Badur Foundation once again commenced its Summer Camp Programme in 2026, continuing its commitment to provide access to meaningful summer experiences for children and families facing disadvantage.

Recognising that many grassroots organisations – especially smaller ones - face funding challenges when organising summer camps, the programme offers financial support to help make these opportunities possible.

The supported camps provide developmental, educational, and community-building experiences for children and young people, fostering personal growth, social inclusion, and lasting connections. Applicants were encouraged to design programmes that respond to the specific needs of their communities.

The 2026 call for proposals was open to non-profit organisations with headquarters in Baranya, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Heves, Nógrád, and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties. These counties represent the socioeconomically most disadvantaged regions in Hungary.

Organisations could apply for grants of up to 1.5 million HUF to organise and deliver summer camps held between 20th June and 31st August 2026. To support ongoing sustainability, a new requirement was introduced this year: A minimum co-financing contribution was required of 300,000 HUF from each successful applicant. This could be covered through the organisation's own resources, or by gaining external funding, donations, or eligible in-kind support.

This year, 20 organisations submitted applications, and eight were selected for funding based on the programme's eligibility and evaluation criteria. From the successful project proposals, the funded camps are expected to provide enriching summer experiences for approximately 200 children and young people.

The following organisations were selected:

  • Peace Among Us Social Cooperative / Békesség Köztünk Szociális Szövetkezet
