In 2025, the Foundation launched its first open call dedicated to supporting summer camps for vulnerable children. The response was inspiring. More than 20 organisations received support, initiating a range of impactful camps, which enabled more than 630 children to experience enriching and joyful summer programmes.
Beyond the numbers, the programme gave the Foundation the opportunity to connect with passionate and committed organisations working to improve the lives of vulnerable children. These partnerships highlighted not only the immediate impact of summer camps, but also their long-term importance in providing stability, community, and personal development opportunities.
To build on this success and enhance the sustainability of these initiatives, the Foundation launched a second, closed call for supporting summer camp programmes in 2026. This call invited organisations whose core activities have a strong social impact and who actively work to improve the long-term quality of life of disadvantaged children. 14 organisations were selected. The upcoming camps will take place in July and August, and are expected to benefit over 400 children.
In this second round, the Foundation introduced a match-funding element: participating organisations are required to raise 600,000 HUF (approx. £1,300) as a contribution to their summer camp programmes. Once this target is reached, the Foundation will award a grant of up to 1,500,000 HUF (approx. £3,400) per organisation.
This requirement is designed as a supportive nudge rather than a barrier. Its purpose is to help organisations broaden their funding base, engage new supporters, and build relationships with both corporate and individual donors. In the long term, it seeks to strengthen their capacity to sustain their summer programmes.
To ensure organisations are well-equipped to meet this goal, the Foundation is providing hands-on support. A dedicated Fundraising Academy, which is offered as an optional opportunity, is composed of workshops, individual mentoring, and practical guidance throughout the process. This combined approach of financial support alongside capacity building, aims to strengthen organisations beyond a single funding cycle.
The Fundraising Academy is delivered in partnership with Absolute Giving Non-profit Ltd., a specialist non-profit agency with strong expertise in fundraising strategy, campaign development, and donor engagement, supporting organisations and companies to maximise the impact of their giving.
The Foundation’s long-term vision is to help create summer camp initiatives that can thrive independently. By empowering organisations with the tools, skills, and networks they need, the goal is to ensure that these vital programmes can continue to run without relying solely on the Foundation’s funding. This approach reflects our commitment to support organisations with becoming financially sustainable over time.
